A few weeks ago I decided to “pull the trigger” on a Savage MSR 15 in .224 Valkyrie. I finally got to the CMP range in Talladega today to see how it shoots and I am very happy with it. Recoils like a .223 and shoots like a 6.5CM (out to 600 yards at least). I’ll see what it’ll do at 1000 as soon as I can.

WoW that’s impressive shooting. I’m liking what I see from 224 V and Savage. Well done !

Thanks! Other than reading a good book about precision shooting I don’t really know what I’m doing out there, but it’s working so far. I had several sub MOA groups with my 6.5CM too including this one at 1/2 inch!

I was just reading about .224V and how it’s the hot new cartridge of the month. Fortunately, this one is living up to the hype. Going to get a barrel in .224V and throw on my 6.8 AR since it uses the same bolt. Nice shooting!

What length barrel are you considering? My Savage is an 18”, but all the reviews have been with 22-24s. I’m not sure I’ll be able to stretch it to 1000 with the 18 incher.
