Grounds Hornets, Yellow Jackets

The problem is I have so much ground cover on top of the ground, I am not sure where the hole is... All though I can narrow it to a 4'x4' area.
There may be more than one entrance/exit. If you can find the flight path it's very obvious. They're so many it will look like an airport.

I know from experience that if you set down a running gasoline weed eater anywhere near the vicinity of the entrance hole a sufficiently large number will come out to 'greet' you making their presence more than easily identifiable. You're welcome.

Yup, I have left a few running right where they landed.
Yellow jackets are the devils offspring.

Someone mentioned gas in a plastic Coke bottle. As my grandfather taught me, use a glass Coke bottle. The taper is one size fits all. Be sure to mark the hole in the daytime by tossing an object near the entrance, etc. They will be dormant at night, but approach the nest with caution. There will be a snitch at the top of the hole. Believe me when I tell you he will tell his friends. You only need an ounce or two of gasoline. The fumes go a long way. I don't recommend any more because nothing will grow there for a while. The more gas you use, the longer it takes for the area to recover. I know this from giving those little demons a sip or two in the front yard.

You should see them coming in around 4-6pm. Just sit still and watch. You will see where the hanger is at the airport. Gas or diesel in the hole after dark.

Two large cans of Brake Cleaner will kill them nearly instantly! Good stuff and works on anything that crawls. I stood out by my kids play gym and shot them in the air and watched them curl up and die. It's amazing stuff!
