Gun free stores around the area..

I'm pretty sure TN signs have force of law. You might check up the local laws.

I'm extremely intrested in this, because me and the wife are going to Nashville for our anniversary. From what I read in your link its a criminal offense, but just a misdemeanor. I believe I'll risk $500 to protect my family. Like others have said, if I'm concealing properly then no one will know anyway.

"(2) Possession of a weapon on posted property in violation of this section is a Class B misdemeanor punishable by fine only of five hundred dollars ($500)."

It would be good if we could keep the first post updated with the list of places that aren't gun friendly. It would make it a lot simpler to reference the first post instead of having to scan through the whole thread. Just a thought.

Thank you for your comment, I will edit my first post and add said business, anytime someone adds a new establishment that is not gun friendly.!

Called Kauffman Tire's Corporate Office and spoke to Ray who is their head of security and asked for a copy of the letter that was mailed out to customers banning guns from their property. He asked me why I needed it and I told him since it was not posted anywhere on their buildings I wante to be able to show other gun owners that they are not allowed on the property and he said if that's what you are going to use it for then I will not send it to you and in the state of Georgia all you need is a verbal warning so here is your warning if you step foot on the property with a handgun you will be arrested. I still think this should be posted on a door to the buildings.

He doesn't know the law in Georgia.........they can ask you to leave, but they can't have you arrested unless you refuse.

Bargain Barn in Jasper has a big sign on the door stating no loaded guns and also anyone carrying a firearm must stop at the front desk and put a lock on it. A couple of years ago I bought a S&W 638, a box of ammo, and an in-pocket holster there. I stood at the counter, loaded the revolver, holstered it and put it in my pocket. That may have been before the sign was posted.
