I have not seen the movie... Limbaugh says the movie is great. It seems the movie has a religious message as the man refused to use a gun for religious reasons. The guy apparently saved 75 lives.

I started this thread/poll with a pretty biased opinion. Any man that saved 75 lives is a hero in my book. Initially, I had zero desire to see this movie. I think I need to see it now.

No doubt about it. That dude was one bad m***** f*****. I think ww2 citations are the most surreal thing to read, esp if you have ever been to Iwo Jima or Okinawa and tried to imagine yourself on those islands...

I work in a building that has the walls lined with Medal of Honor awardees and their citations. It keeps you grounded when you read what these great Men have done.

Listen to Rush today and he said that Mel Gibson sent him a DVD of the movie for him to watch...He said it was great and also said the opening was about young boys playing in the Blue Ridge Mountains..And that they were climbing rock cliffs and doing things many kids did back in the 50-60s having fun...That would be frowned on with today's libertarian society. I can remember jumping off the Flood gates in the keys, and climbing up 50 ft coral walls to do it again.. Childhood memories that last a life time..Back before all the computer crap, Black berrys, twitter, tweet, Video games of which the only I have played, are pong, and Pack man..I guess I grew up leaning how to gain a set of balls the best way..Oh and yes I still use a 10+ yr old flip up cell phone.

I had two Medics in my platoon that I put on dust offs, both hit hard, still keep in touch with them, my Medics will always be heroes. Try running to a wounded man with bullets flying like hornets and you're unable to return fire.:thumb:
Well done!! Unless they walked in our shoes they will never have any idea...
