Had a guy ask me

I like 7.62x39 in AR15 for the ranges we hunt (most shots under 50 yards). However, any legal caliber will kill a deer with proper shot placement. What ever he shoots well should be his choice with hunting ammo.

I know what I’m gonna do, I’m gonna let him shoot my 12 gauge with 3.5 inch 2 1/4 oz turkey load. If he can handle that, he wont have any problems with any deer calibers.
Do you want him to develop a flinch? Because that's how you develop a flinch.

Go the other way. Let him shoot the smallest you have and then work your way up. Remember that recoil management is a skill, so make sure his shooting form is good before you move him into bigger stuff.

I was just kidding. I wanted to see what people would say about that. People telling me to let him shoot a .300 mag and stuff. Lol
