Had a run in with a bear

I usually just quickly scale the nearest tree and start making wounded prairie dog noises. When the beast approaches to investigate I drop out of the tree onto its back and stab it to death with my sharpened goat antler. I have never seen the need to lug around firearms.
That's called the Billy Bad**s Method.

I wouldn't be too worried about black bears. They are just like big rats lookin for chips and empty bean cans. They will run away 99.9999999999999999999% of the time.
But there is a gold plated .50 Desert eagle for sale on here. That should take care of a black bear.

A guide in Alaska recently killed a Brown with a 9mm and some well placed shots while it was attacking. Bullet placement seems to make a difference no matter what we happen to shoot at.

But seriously, there's always the trusty S&W .460 Magnum. If this won't drop them in 5, you'll need the .50 BMG . . . . .

I have an old shotgun I turned into a lamp. I shot one in the butt once with it. Blew the hair right off.

10mm with underwood ammo for me. I don't want to shoot a bear... But I also don't want to have a wounded one keep coming at me. If you can't scare it off, they say you are supposed to attempt to shoot it in the throat if you are feeling under gunned...
