Have Any of You Daily Concealed/Open Carriers Ever Needed It????

All I'll say is that a .357 and a .38 revolver look identical when pointed right at your face. I now carry every time I step outside. I often wonder what would have happened that night if I had been packing.

I carry but have never had to "draw down" on anyone. There have been a couple of incidents but I was able to avoid pulling my weapon. I truly hope that I never have to pull my weapon to defend my family's life or my life.

if someone gets out of their car my first reponse would be to hit the PA (which usually works b/c for some reason that mechanical sound of a voice talking to you out of a vehicle makes people think "COPS!" so in the confusion they comply) and ask him to return to his vehicle. If he persists I will attempt to drive away and call the cops... if he blocks me in... i will run him down

a 35" tire and steel bumper stops a bad guy just as well as a .45 and sometimes better. I have just enough lift to avoid getting him stuck up or wrapped around the axle. haha

Back in the Spring of this year, I was doing a job down off Wesley Chapel road in Decatur. Was parked in a QT parking lot, about 10 am, just going through paper work and whatnot. 2 black guys come walkin towards my truck, hands tucked in their crotch/pockets, I didn't think much of it. Once they got within 25ft, they both kept eye contact with me as they were walking. I reached for my M&P and just held it in front of the window, along with the mean mug, and that was that, they immediately changed direction, then hollered at their homie in front of the gas station pointing at me.

Been robbed at gunpoint when I was a teenager, god almighty if I was packing then........

Having already been a victim of violent crime less than a year earlier
I had several misguided youths with their gang colors line up across the street in Clarkston. As I stopped ( I had my window down) the one nearest my drivers side door with his hand in his sweatpants says "Gimme that truck" doing his best thug imitation. I immediately drew my Stainless .45 from between the seat and the console pointed it at his face and replied I'll give you some of this you SOB. I didn't see anything but backsides and sneaker bottoms after that. Hopefully they learned that we are not all sheep there for the wolves to do as they wish. Yeah I probably coulda just stomped the accelerator but that wouldn't have sent the same message and probably would have left them feeling empowered as if they had scared me worse than it did and made me flee. No the cops weren't called.

About 8 months ago I walking down the aisle of a parking lot in walmart. As I was crossing the main strip at the front door, a person in a pick up comes to a screeching halt dang near hitting me. I took a couple of more steps away and raised my hands and said, "Why are driving so fast in a parking lot?" He rolled down his window (he had to be in his 70's) and yells, "You better not walk in front of me when I'm driving or kill your little a$$". I told him to screw off and turned around to walk into walmart. After about 8-10ft i heard a door slam shut, I turn around, and the guy is coming around the truck with a tire iron in his hand. I stepped back, swepped my shirt back and grabbed a hold of my glock 22, so that he could see it. He stopped and I told him that I didn't want any trouble but that if he came closer there was gonna be alot of it. He gave me a dirty look, and his wife was yelling for him to get his a$$ in the truck. Of course all the people coming in and out of wal mart have stopped to watch. I didn't pull it from my holster, but I was glad that I carry with one in the chamber. As I walked into wal mart (i was there to buy ammo), I was shaking a good bit, my adrenaline was pumping pretty good. I pray that I will never have to use my weapon in self defense, but if someone puts me in that situation, I pray that God gives me the strength to do what's right.

while bidding a job I was walking through a small batch of woods in Atlanta. I walked up on two guys, one with a jacket and one hugging a small fire without. They looked at me and my warm jacket and stood up. While walking toward me one says, "That sure is a warm looking jacket you got on." the other pulls a steak knife and agrees with the first. I lifted the right side of my jacket to clear my gun and said, "it is warm."
The funny thing is when they saw the pistol the one with a jacket looked at the one without and tells him, "Looks like he gonna keeps it too." The two just walked back to where they were sitting. I warned them of the two hotels that were coming and went about my business

That was the funniest time I've ever "pulled" my pistol. Working in Atlanta, walking through abandoned houses and small patches of woods will give you plenty opportunities to use a personal protection firearm. Kinda like delivering pizzas in DeKalb Co.

I have a friend that works for the evil banks. He has to appraise the foreclosures and he has to pull his gun every week, and that's after he tries to get away form any trouble. He says that these people are losing everything and it just gets directed to me when I show up from the bank that's taking everything. It's not always a cut and dry situation.

I have had to use my pistol a few times (4) to protect myself. Have pulled it twice and used it once. Spent 6 hours at Atlanta PD and was released. I was with not charged. I was thankful that day. Had I not had a weapon, myself and one other would not be here today.

In a way... Yes. Last March I was at an ATM late night. Not in Hotlanta still in GA. Needed cash. Stopped at an ATM. They must have been scoping the area out. No one was around the ATM when I parked. I get my cash stuffed in my billfold. I turn around and a 2 meth heads standing there. One has a three inch pocket knife raised out at me. Demanded my withdrawl. I reach around as to pull my billfold out again but from my waistband pull my buddy S&W 642. I barely cleared my holster and they hauled ass faster then a 100 m track sprint runner. In hind sight maybe not the best move on my part if a gun fight insued. I dont know if his cohort meth head was armed. They were pretty scrawning looking. I believe this old fart could have whopped either in a fair fight. Both at the same time not sure with my bum leg. Confident I could with my truck tire iron....

Thankfully, no- but came close three times. The first time several years back, a couple of thugs approached me menacingly when I was walking near Georgia Tech campus. While I normally keep my weapon very concealed, one of them spotted a portion of it when they got within about 12-15 feet, and they immediately turned and went the other direction. About three years ago someone approached my car door in downtown Atlanta. I saw him approaching, so I placed my weapon on the seat next to me in plain sight. Once he saw my weapon on the seat, he moved quickly away. About two months ago I was in a local Wal-Mart when a BIG black guy tried to push his way in front of me in the self-check out line, talking smack and trying to impress his family. I stood my ground as he screamed inches from my face what he planned to do to me, threatening physical harm. No one from Wal-Mart did anything to intervene, and everyone within ear shot stopped to watch, while those closest moved quickly away. I calmly told him that he would have to wait his turn just like everyone else and continued to scan the rest of my items (the ones still remaining after he threw some of them two aisles away). I half expected him to follow me outside. I never even hinted that I was carrying, but I took great comfort in knowing that I could protect myself if he tried to do something really stupid.
