Sounds like a flywheel rubbing. Maybe on the nose of the starter? Was there a warranty on the tranny from GM? If so I would let them figure it out or at least say it aint us.

Being that they’re in Utah 2 hours behind they are still open.Good luck. I had a 2004. I know they made some changes between those years but it was pretty rock solid.

The hunt continues. They were no help because I wasn’t the customer and it’s not public information. I was told any warranty is only good for the person and doesn’t follow the vehicle.

Does not sound like engine mounts and those are easy to check. Pop the hood and while you look in the engine compartment have someone you trust set the park brake, depress the brake pedal with left foot and shift into drive while giving it gas. If the mount is bad you'll know it quickly as the engine picks up due to torque. That's how I found mine were bad. GM asshole engineers making fluid filled mounts that crack and leak out.Video:

This occurs while it's in park and at low speed.
The sound does not come from the engine bay and I've determined that it’s most prevalent around the actual transmission.
It comes and goes but doesn’t matter whether it’s at op temp or not.
There is no noticeable issues or changes with how it shifts or drives.
My initial thought is a cracked flex plate based on what I’ve watched and read online and seems to be a common problem with these.
Could it be motor and/or transmission mounts? My thought is no because it’s not clunking and usually there’s a change when things heat up/cool down based on the harmonics of the drivetrain.
Would like to know the ODT collectives thoughts. Although I’m comfortable enough to be dangerous mechanically, anything that involves the transmission is not something I feel comfortable with. So if you know what it is, you get bonus points for cost involved in repairing it.
