Help picking a 1911

Keep in mind that “normal” 1911’s won’t usually fit holsters for the Sigs unless it is from the classic line. It’s something to consider if you won’t stop at 1 pistol.

I came very close to buying a classic match elite in .40 a couple years ago for USPSA SS.

I shot a match elite in 9mm as a starting platform before moving to 2011s. It was a crazy cheap price new of about 825 at Georgia gun.
Sig makes two slide profiles in their 1911s. The traditional slide profile is a perfect fit in 1911 holsters. The regular sig 1911s may or may not fit in a standard 1911 holster depending on how tight the holster fits the top profile of the slide.
