I have a 9 I carry alot when my jacket doesnt match my.45. I feel comfortable as hell with it.. It holds 10 rounds of tallon and if a situation arosw where I would need to use it, I dont plan on bringing any ammo bacl home... Everyone says the 9 is a weak dick round but still no volunteers on letting me test it out on them..
I know this is an old thread but I just read some of the comments and coming from someone that was is the USMC for 5 years and did 2 tours to Iraq, I have to go with the .45acp in my opinion nothing beats a good old 1911. I hit what I shoot at, and if it was alive before I shot at it, it is shore to be dead after. Never owned a 9mm outside of the Core and don't think I will ever. My wife carries and shoots a subcompact 1911 and loves it.
It doesn't matter which you carry, its all about shot placement! Im sure that has already been said but I personally carry a 9mm. Do I like .45, of course I do, but again whether it be a 9mm, 45acp, .357 mag, etc its all about what your comfortable with and its ALL about shot placement. As OS said in the beginning of this, I too like the fact that its cheaper to shoot 9mm and IF a BO or SHTF situation ever occurred I personally believe it would be easier to my hands on 9mm than .45 I mean where have we all been where they DIDNT sell 9mm cause ive been to Wally World several times and them be out of 45 when I needed it.
