i noticed my shotgun has a hollow wood stock and was wondering the use for a hollow stock and the stock is attached by screws on the bottom of the outside of the stock so their is no bolt inside the hollow cavity

is it for weight reduction or storage of first aid or something?
i am not really a shotgun guy i just got it from a trade out of curiosity and the fact i didn't have a shotgun

If its a SHTF gun you can use it to store bandages. I run extra batteries and a shell wrapped in bandages stuffed in there.

I picked up an old shotgun with a hollow wood stock years ago that someone had put lead tire weights in - I guess to add weight maybe for recoil reduction (that was my best guess) - they'd really packed a bunch in there!
