Got a buddy who wants to get a gun for home defense. He also wants his wife to be able to use the gun if the situation should arise.
They are not necessarily gun people - this will be their first and likely only gun. However, if this matters, they have both shot a few times at the range.
We are of course leaning towards a 12ga pump shotgun.
He would like to spend less than $300.
This is definitely not anything I would be qualified to give advice on. I shoot a lot, but mostly pistols and assault rifles.
Would anyone have some good advice to offer up? Is a pump shotty the way to go? Or would there be other style guns that would be better suited as the SOLE HOME DEFENSE OPTION.
