Home internet / WiFi hotspots - 4G Community

Amazing the difference a quality router will make.

I have AT&T fiber, was underwhelmed at the speed via the AT&T router/modem.

Added the Netgear Nighthawk X6s and boom, whole house coverage. More than doubled upstairs speeds.

Yep. Old ATT modem/router barely reached into my bedroom. Asus has usable signal a hundred feet outside the house. I made sure to use channels not used by my neighbors, so it should not blast them too bad. I do have 2 channels opened on either side of my selection, so my signal bleed-over is non-existent. And NOBODY is using the 5Ghz. I put Rokus on 5Ghz. It is nice to have options.

Now I have a Ethernet over the Powerline kit that I no longer need. Anybody want one cheap?
I might stick it in the old horsebarn. Might cover all 10 acres with a WiFi signal. :D

got the ZTE WARP works as expected. Just FYI tis hotspot has Two external antenna ports , don't know what they are for, but web has antennas for sale, for this spot specifically. I did not need them.

I'm pretty sure the 4G Community deal won't work on my property. No Sprint signal at all.
Anybody have any info on these guys please? http://dumpsatellite.com/ $85 a month, no contract. I'll pay that if it works.

The coverage map is rather conservative. Have you tried a Sprint device to see if you have a signal or not? Their map says no 4G at my house. I get 4G just fine.

As I understand it, they will start accepting new members soon.
External antennas allow you some flexibility on positioning the hot spot. Mine has only built in, so I have to keep it by the window to get a strong signal (-20 to -40 dB). I figured out how to do it, but it would have been nice to have extra flexibility in positioning.
