Homeschool Anyone??

We tried home school the first part of this year. We have a 6 and 7 yr old. But we also have a 6 month old now. My wife struggled and I work 50-60 hrs a week and was having to do some lessons when I got one late in the evening. It was great for the kids and the family but was just to hard with a newborn. We put them back in school after the 2nd 6 weeks and they were ahead of their classmates and the work they were doing. We will do it again but are going to wait until the baby is older and easier to handle lol. We used k-12 georgia cyber academy. It was easy and had a lot of help for things we didn't understand. Teachers and other parents were just a phone call or email away. And they provided a computer and all the workbooks for free. It's paid by the same program as public schools and the test outs were done at the end of the year at a local school.

I don't have Kids but my little brother is a sophmore in a public school...the education they are giving these kids is awful!

For instance he actually said "Our Founding fathers were terrorists for the boston Tea Party"....luckily for him I was choking on dinner so I couldn't slap the ignorance out of him.

From a British perspective they were.

touche One man's Freedom Fighter is another's terrorist....always has been always will be.

But the point I am trying to make is that because of his "education" he does not view our founding fathers as liberators or defenders of freedom...rather terrorists which outrages me.

I know. If I had a kid they would walk into Kindergarten quoting various treaties, questioning everything etc. They wouldn't last a day.

The government "education" system as we know today was setup by Woodrow Wilson and the industrialists of the day(Vanderbilt, Ford etc) to make good workers. They wanted us just smart enough to run a production line and nothing more. They knew that knowlegde was power and they wanted a monoploy on it.

All I'll say is I know one kid who was home schooled... hasn't been able to hold any jobs more than a few months and spends a thousand dollars plus a month on weed and recently was arrested for domestic violence after he got in a fight with his girlfriend over weed.

Sounds like the kid, not the schooling. You cant fix stupid.
