Hard to judge people on the street, some are professional beggers, and some really need a few bucks to get by. And there's the addicts looking for there next fix. Either way they're all God's children, I go buy my gut feelings. I've had people hit me up at quick trip needing 5 bucks to get home, that's all he ask for. I help the one's like that, not the one's with a professional looking sign.

I’ve bought food for people that genuinely looked like they needed it. If they ask for money, I usually just say no thanks and keep it moving.

I gave a person at the grocery store checkout line a few dollars once, to help pay for their items. But when she was still short $ and wanted more from me to get everything she had, I said no. I told her she would have to take something out. I wanted her to decide on what to buy and only keep the essentials. She did...but struggled because she wanted it all. Seems like she took out bubble bath or some other crap along those lines......

Depends on the situation. Last time was a woman in Kroger; asked for a donation to buy a meal as she hadn't had any food that day. I told her that I would go to the Deli and buy her lunch, she replied that she was hoping a friend would be along later and money would be fine, I suggested that the friend could buy her meal and she quickly reconsidered. Bought her a meal and told her to get a drink also, paid for it then stopped by Customer Service and told them not to give her a refund if she brought it back. Was I scammed? Probably, but my conscience felt better.

I've only given two people money in my entire life. Some dude in a wheel chair as I was leaving a Braves game at age 7 and a boy scout spinning a giant cheeto ball container on his finger at kroger, which he promptly dropped and made me laugh so he earned that one. Everyone else gets the nah dude
