Yes, the L is for Luftwaffe. H would be for Heer.I think I picked up a pretty special rifle. It's an all matching German K98 Mauser. It's crazy how many marks and stamps the Germans put on their rifles. I think it is a true war trophy vet bring back complete with a discreetly hidden duffle cut stock. I believe it was originally issued to the Luftwaffe. Isn't that what the "L" stamp on the stock indicates?
