How is the milsurp market these days?

I just picked this rifle up, it is a 1903 Made in 1931 with a 3-28 Barrel, and these are pictures of it.
it has the Target sights on it. ;)

Went to Creekside today to break in that new garand barrel. Fired 1-shot, then wet swab, then dry patch, repeated for 20rds. Then i shot a few enblocs, cleaning her up after every three rounds. She's incredibly accurate with HXP, Danish surplus, and with new PPU ammo, consistently giving me 1" to 1-1/4" groups at 100 yds once i got the sights adjusted. Towards the end i was picturing the bullseye in 4 quadrants and calling my shots almost every time.

Barrel is a new criterion from cmp, all other parts are correct SA. Receiver is an SA '43. Trigger pull is crisp and predictable and the action cycled smooth as butter. Absolutely no feed or extraction issues. The front sight blade was slightly off center but i just compensated for it with my windage adjustment for today.... I'll take care of that before next time.

Had such a great time that i forgot to take pics. Many thanks to will4me will4me and 10thmountain 10thmountain for all your help and advice!

Heck yes alleycat alleycat !!!! That makes me want to convert one of mine into a "special" with that new barrel.
Oh how crowded was creekside? I will be up there next week fo sho working with my match gun.

There were 5 or 6 folks shooting steel with pistols but only 2 rifle shooters besides Ms AC and myself.

Btw...she still looks all original......you can't tell that the barrel has been replaced unless you open her up like in the pic above
