How NOT to Clean Your Gun

I bought a weapon from a individual in Nevada who shipped it through his FFL to my FFL. When my FFL open the box and checked the chamber there was a live round in it with a loaded mag. Needles to say my FFL was very PISSED!

They are all loaded unless they are scattered across the work bench. Even then, the barrel is still loaded.

Drunk or sober, it's not a good idea to play stupid games or be "theatrical" with a firearm in any state.

There was the army ranger in Mogadishu that had an ND in the hangar where all the American combat troops were staying according to the memoir of a former seal.

And I know personally know a former ranger, and a very sharp and smart fella, that lost the tips of his left ring and pinky fingers from racking the slide and pulling the trigger on an "empty" 1911 when he started to clean it. Must've been riding the slide. He was known thereafter as "Dos Dedos".

It’s crazy how people simply do not clear their weapons. It’s one of the habits I’m pounding into my son. Even when getting a firearm at the gunstore counter, you clear it. You saw me cleaning the gun I told you to get me, you clear it. Period.

When you clear a gun and hand it to me, I clear it.

I know accidents happen.. but how do you not drop the mag, and clear before you clean... hand to someone.

I mean it's like taking a pis*... you don't forget to unzip and pull it out before you start piss*ng...

Well, that could depend on how much you have had to drink. LOL!
