How old to sell a gun in GA.

Is possession the same thing as ownership? My 9yo daughter "has" a 10-22. She says it's hers, I say it's hers, but legally I'm pretty sure I actually own it.

According to GA law (and a few other states) you can give a Minor a Long gun and there is no Minimum age of ownership of said Long rifle (not a pistol).
After the incident of the 9yr old shooting a Instructor with a 9mm Full Auto some states started looking into just that law, I have no idea why that has anything to do with gun ownership.
That is as far as I am going with this as beyond this is slippery slope.

You know whenever I read these questions pertaining to gun laws I always check the OPs feedback and I have yet to be disappointed. No I wouldn't buy a gun from anyone under 18 because I am pretty sure they didn't come by it legally and it is not theirs to sell. Yes, daddy may have bought it for them but if that is the case then daddy needs to sell it for them.

Daddy mite have died and left it to them and without daddy they need the money more than the guns right now. (Ive been there) Knowing to go to the gun community rather than a pawn shop to get the most for the guns rather than feed a pawn shop at a time when you need all the money that you can get is not a bad idea. It dont sound illegal either. All the laws state how old you have to be to BUY a gun not sell a gun. Just a thought. Thanks Paul

That is correct, an 18+ y/o may purchase a handgun (or long gun).
Does the private seller have responsibility of knowing whether an 18 or older is not a felon, declared incompetent etc or is seeing their drivers license as proof of age legal enough? Can a private seller sell to anyone 18 or older?
