yes i'm new to football. cuz apparently u forgot more than i know. by that article that means uga only has 1 legit national title. and i'm not certain, but my time around campus and around the football program has shown that uga claims more than 1 title
I'm sorry that I bruised your ego with my earlier comments.
It has been a running joke amongst a lot of SEC fans (most notably Auburn and UT fans) for years that Alabama counts too many Nat'l Championships to their credit. Maybe if you were as into the SEC football scene as you claim to be, you'd have known that already.
So you cite an article that takes issue with the 1941 title for BAMA. OK, we list 15 championships, if you don't count 1941 we still have 14. How many does UGA have?
IMO, we only have 1 Nat'l Championship. To me if it wasn't a consensus (as in the era of AP/Coaches/UPI/BCS) than it doesn't count. Back in the day (as I'm sure you're familiar with), just about every sports publication/organization handed out National Championships. To me, if Harry Boondock from Watertown Sports Page gave you a National Title in 1901, it doesn't count.
I just hope Bama can manage to beat powerhouses like Chattanooga, Colorado State and Georgia State this year. I bet that can be tough, especially for an upper echelon college football program.
