Does anyone have experience using green or red lights to hunt for hogs? Any manufacturer recommendations? Found Wicked Lights, but it's the opinion-net, so looking for some other opinions.

Scenario: they've been baited and we know when they come, but it's always after nightfall.

Considered NV, digital, and thermal options, but the costs are crazy.

Thx

The general rule is green lights for hogs and red lights for predators, but it's easy to spook a hog with a green light, and they'll catch on to it quick.

A good entry level NV scope is the digital Sightmark Photon, and Dvor.com has the 4.6x on sale right now for $415. You have to join to see the price. If you combine that with a T20 IR illuminator for around $30, you'll have a decent NV setup. It's difficult to get multiple hogs with a digital scope, unless you have a suppressor, because the smoke from firing will cloud the scope for a few seconds. But the hogs will never know you're there as compared to using just a green light.
