HVAC Heat Pump Question

Had the HVAC guy back out. .
What it comes down to, is these newer units, (mine is 16 Seer) have a 3rd cycle that stays on more than previous designs. They maintain temps running longer cycles, cycling less in general. Heat strips help out as needed during these cycles But, only flip to Emergency Heat if extreme cold or 2-3 degree differentials in temp and thermostat settings.
Mystery solved.
