Well I see that I need to clarify my original post as some cant see the forest for the trees, Please look beyond for the fallout from this unprecedented gun buying frenzy. Yes there will always be Darwinian Award candidates, I believe that because of the record number of gun purchases the shear number of accidental shootings will rise accordingly, and give cause to the number of gun grabber actions and bills.

And yes I have tried to politely explain the need for gun safety, sometimes I get an adverse reaction from the new buyer and sometimes from the sales(person)

Finally Some do Some do not understand the legal ramification of using a gun. What to expect in the after action time frame.

And finally,

When I was up in Pigeon Forge I went into Buds Gun Shop to browse. They were putting on a firearms class and the guy told me that it was mandatory to take a firearms safety course in order to get a CCP in TN. That is what EVERY state should mandate.

Why? Have you taken a state mandated course? Most of them don't teach anything outside of rounds on paper at seven yards. I don't know of one that discusses when you should and shouldn't shoot or how to properly set up your carry equipment or draw from a holster. it's already stupid enough I have to pay money for my rights, the last thing anyone should be forced to do is pay and take a class to exercise a right.

Join the NRA, and other gun rights groups. Start visiting you elected reps, Personal Visits get the response. Learn who your reps are.

Highly recommend the NRA Training, and will admit I need a refresher as its been a while. We all could use good critiques.

I can’t speculate on what was taught in the course, but it’s still a good idea if done properly. If the only options are let everyone carry a gun or let everyone carry a gun AFTER at least minimal training, I choose the latter. I don’t trust most people to go out and put in at least 8 hours learning their firearm on their own. If all they do is a mandatory minimal training that is better than nothing at all.

Common sense gun laws? What other laws do we need? How about we lock all guns up in a community armory, you know to keep the guns off the streets?
