I completed my Christmas build a little early- I joined the Mini 14 club

The Mini is a fun gun to shoot. Was my first 5.56/.223 rifle I ever owned. Blew up a lot of old cans of Barbasol back in the day! I pimped it out with a lot of Mini stuff from Bushmaster - back before they got ruirnt.

I liked my Mini-14.
I had it configured several different ways over the decades I owned it.

But several years ago I decided that I was not going to increase the number of guns in my gun collection, yet I wanted
a 20 inch barreled AR-15 rifle with a fixed stock. So... the Mini 14 got sold for pretty much the same money it took to buy the AR.

Love the AR is it Colt? Them triangle hand guards are sexy. Does it have a forward assist?

I bought 1 of my mini’s for $ 400
The other I traded a $300 20 ga shotgun for it

My AR is a Frankenrifle assembled by some member here.

It does have a forward assist, a modern 1:9 twist barrel, finger-adjustable windage and elevation knobs on the rear peep sight.

Despite its triangular hand guard and three prong flash hider and short buttstock, it is not a true M-16 or M16A1 replica.

Almost bought a new one from TG&Y for $159.00 more years ago than I care to remember. Same case had an XP-100 for $159.00 and I was a couple of days to young for the pistol. Bought a new 444 that day instead.
