In GA, a business may only possess two liquor licenses for retail sales. This is why Costco only has two locations which sell booze in the whole state. It's the same with Total Wine. There are only two Total Wine and More stores since "and More" means they sell liquor.

I remember when Stone Mountain Park was a happening place. We'd cruise the road around the park and everyone was parking and hanging out. You would always find several folks selling 12 packs out of their trunk on Sunday.

My old man used to bring original Coors back to PA in the trunk of the car back in the day when they didn't ship out of CO. He was in sales and traveled alot. I was just a kid, but thought that was cool.

I believe it depends on the state, and not here.

I went to college in PA and they only allowed alcohol sales on sunday my senior year. Had to buy beer by the case at a distributer, 6 packs cold only at bars, and liqour/wine at state run stores.

The now closed Disco Kroger in Buckhead (the one in Atlanta) had a double wide isle full of wine and craft beer with a tasting bar, along with a fulltime Sommelier. Everything from 3 dollar boxed wine to $10K vintage bottles in a locked case. I've seen other Kroger's with a similar, but not as large setups.

I grew up in FL and when in college, anytime someone was going to GA we always gave them a cooler and had it brought back full of 40's. Cause that was just so much cooler to drink over a quart lol. But we could buy liquor at the grocery stores and pharmacy's on Sundays
