I'm about ready to give up my 1000 dollar earnest money. Starting to think this place is going to be more headache than it's worth. Strange how your thinking clears when you get a little sleep.

House looks solid. 4 sided brick and a level lot with a well matured yard. Just don't get all Bypass-y yet.
That's what I was thinking initially.
Trouble is I don't like rats and there are rats in the attic. Not to mention the leaky roof. I also while I was looking noticed the water heater leaked onto the carpet at some point and why the hell isn't the water heater in the garage it's in the middle of the house.
I don't like the fact that the owners tried to hide the fact that the roof was leaking. What else are they hiding?

Well that ain't bad, but it sounds like you need to be real careful with this particular house. Issues are cropping up. Now a pest control guy said there were in our current home. There were not. I've literally been all over this attic. My place is way older, but it's been kept up well
The roof can be fixed. Just not cheap. The middle of the house is a good place for the water heater. I'm trying to figure out how they have rats in that new of a house. That's just nasty. They must've been in their belongings when they moved in.
A home is a great investment. But it can also be a nightmare. You need to find the right place. This is business, don't let emotions get in your way. That would be a huge mistake
