So, I'm in Woodstock and I want to try out my new revolver so I thought, "what the hell" and stopped by Parnell's for a few minutes of range time. I had promised myself in the past that I wouldn't go in that place, I've been stung there before in the range and seen some unsafe handling... but 15 or 20 minutes wouldn't hurt, right?
So, in addition to a lane to shoot in I got this, as a present from Parnell's.. right in the FACE... hit pretty hard actually.. had to laugh.
I packed it up and left... I've heard people tell them in the past that junk was coming back towards the shooters but they insist that it only happens if someone shoots the target hangers. So, I didn't even bother, I paid and left.
Lesson learned... again, next time I spend the extra few minutes and dollars to hit Firing Line. I think God lets you know when you are doing something really stupid sometimes (or the "Universe" or Murphy or whatever).
Oh, the gun was a Ruger Vaquero that I got in a trade from Shrek... wow, that thing is smooth. I put a target out at about 5 yards or so and was grouping em in the middle so I pushed the target as far back as it will go in that range and was keeping em in the 9 and 10 without much effort. I next got out my Glock 19 to get in some practice with my carry gun... the trigger on the Glock, hell, even the sights, seemed kinda sad after shooting the stainless steel beauty.
Made it back alive... another good day.. heh. (stay away from Parnell's for God's sake
