i have a stream not to far away and woods behind my house with deer, squirrel, possum and turkey in it i can get a clear view of the road leading to my road by going to the top of the hill on the land, my neighbors shoot for sport so they have a gun or two that might keep riff raff off the road, and there is only one entrance onto the road i live on and the road leading to mine is has only 2 entrances and exits. i feel this area is pretty safe

Dakota, I have limited road access here too. Its people commin thru the woods IMHO that would be harder to detect soooo. Here is a gift for u ;since, we have a similar issue. They have battery powered window alarms for cheap at the dollar store. When the 2parts of the alarm are separated it makes a shrill 80 decibel squeal. So,put one in a plastic sandwich bag and some fishing line tied to the magnet run across a path makes a good warning alarm.

I'm with you on the low tech options. Any long term SHTF is going to see the end of batteries and eventually even solar rechargeable stuff. I'm even concerned about being addicted to night sights on my guns. LOL!

I've actually started exploring that option in my AO lol. Little guys like me dont have a problem in the tunnels. if you do go expolring in the tunnels, bring a knife, headlight, gloves, face mask, and knee pads (the tunnel walls are really rough and will hurt your knees). I want to try scooting around on a skate board
