Check your springs.

Measure the extractor tension less than 3 lbs. may be and issue as is the chip on the extractor face.

Measure or simply (perhaps tough for a uncommon gun) replace the recoil spring.

Replace magazine spring or swap out magazines that have good springs (common problem)

Also is the case still in the chamber when it fails or do you find it with the slide back pushing on the case upon the chamber area-which could mean your ejector is not ejecting correctly.

Thank you very much. I've got a second extractor and spring from another slide coming Monday as well as a spare magazine. I've actually got 3 guiderod and spring assembly's since I've bought so many parts for it. It's running the "newest" and strongest recoil assembly and spring now. Extractor should be replaced Monday. I knocked out the old one to look at it more closely compared to a non DK non Starfire extractor. Definitely a chip. Tried to show it best as possible in pics. I guess with the new mag, recoil assmbly, and extractor I'll give her a test run Monday/Tuesday. Thanks and I'll still be in touch with Deercreek I'm sure as to questions in regards to spare parts or a spare frame.

Maybe, you can take off the extractor and have a machinist make one( might be pricey) or find one for a similar gun and fit it yourself. Good luck, that is a cool gun for sure. Leave the finish as is, it looks awesome.

Definitely wanted to keep the worn slide working well I think this slide on Monday will have a 1 for 1 exchange on the extractor! Fingers crossed.

Probably not. The 380 star chrome plated spare slide I have is like damn near exactly a match just made to fit a steel framed model not a DK aluminum frame and the extractor fits all the way up to the hole for the pin not lining up due to not enough material. I couldn't drill it out larger because there's not enough OD around the hole. It's so closeeee and the claw looks perfect too I'm p****d. I've got the new slide coming Monday. It's a dead on DK slide so with a little fit and finish it'd work.

Side note. Was wondering if some material could be welded to my chipped extractor claw and then filed back down to proper spec?

Welding might work. Would probably need to harden the extractor hook after welding and filing it to shape.
