If you always wanted a 257 Roberts

I found Winchester factory loads for $2.55 per round. Kind of steep to me but it is better than paying $2-$3 each for brass which seems to be the going rate.

I don't mind paying $2-$3 for brass, when I can reload them virtually forever. There are some excellent .257 bullets out there that are impossible to find in loaded ammo. Nosler has a 115grn Ballistic Silvertip and standard Ballistic Tip.

I understand what you are saying but, $2.55 for loaded ammo and I can either shoot it or pull it and still have primed brass for about the same cost. If I shoot it, then I have fire formed brass. Seems like the better deal to me.

I get that argument, and it works for many folks, but it's not something that I prefer to do.

I have definite preferences for brass I intend on loading quite a bit, so I may not even want the brass that is in the loaded ammo. As of right now, I intend on using Nosler Custom brass.

For my hunting rifles, I don't care to shoot bunch of ammo out of it that isn't what I will actually be hunting with. It will more than likely shoot to a different POI when I zero at 100yds, and the dope will be different for it at various ranges. If I'm going to be shooting a rifle I intend on hunting with, I want to be able to set and verify my dope.

As I said earlier I can shoot it or I can pull it and load what I want. I think Winchester PPT is excellent projectile for deer sized game and have had excellent luck in the past with Winchester brass. I could have bought Remington core lokt, which is a good deer projectile but I prefer the Winchester brass for reloading. I loaded a ton of it in .243 and never wore out a case. I am happy with my purchase.

Plenty of whitetail have been killed with both those bullets, and Winchester makes great brass. When I shot a lot of handloaded .300WinMag, I only used Winchester brass. I used some of that ammo to run out to 2,000yds.

Rifle came in today. A buddy of mine sent me 60 rounds of once fired brass and 100 90gr Hornady GMX projectiles. Of course now I am waiting on scope mounts. Seems what I have on hand never works.
