I had to get it because of the army reserves. Plus the army’s pumped me full of crazy vaccines over the years that I didn’t really care anymore. Smallpox and anthrax vaccines anyone?

Plague! Don’t forget your bubonic plague shot. They often gave it individually from a small TB / insulin syringe after you got both arms whacked by the old multi-shot air guns.

Well I’ve been retired for 12 years now but when I first started out I wanted something to do so I went to Walmart and got a job as a greeter well that only lasted one day at the end they said they wanted to see me in the office at the end of the day then they told me that it was my last day they said because of me the police were called four times and they now have three lawsuits they said we will make sure you never get a job again anywhere.

I've toyed with getting another job while the market is great and have ran into the same My company is current looking for skilled CNC operators, night shift supervisor, installation manager, MRP Manager and skilled cabinet or display builders. The market is also very dependent on where you are, we are in Dallas Ga and it's slim pickens.
Yeah all these F….s are hiring with requirements like this:

PHD
MS
BS
Must have PE in 10 states
Must have 15 years work experience in 5 different engineering disciplines
Must have lead teams larger than 10,000 people for 10 years
Travel 50%
Must work weekends
Comfortable with shift work
Salary: $50k a year with $5k deductible insurance

Literally had 10 job interviews and following offers with **** pay. My company played 3D chess and trapped me with my salary. I just did a 6 hour in person interview at a manufacturing company last Friday and at the end of the interview they asked my salary range. I am so tired of these companies that I bluntly said anything less than 6 figures you’re wasting my time.

Sorry rant, off, but all these f….s play games. They want the world from you, but piss and moan when you want to make more than the hourly guys you’re stuck managing.
I've toyed with getting another job while the market is great and have ran into these same issues. I was thinking that I could make a little more, find something more interesting to me and better perks. Just like mentioned before, salary requirements are the first thing and then usually the last thing talked about. My company is current looking for skilled CNC operators, night shift supervisor, installation manager, MRP Manager and skilled cabinet or display builders. We are in Dallas Ga and it's slim pickens. It seems like a total disconnect of people hiring and people looking.

Are you guys finding these dream jobs via one of the online internet sites ( Monster, Zip Recruiter etc.), through a recruiter/headhunter or applying direct on a company's website?

I've only talked to recruiters and applied to 2 jobs through indeed. I hate social media including linkedin but it seems that networking is becoming more important than your resume.

Lots of interviews, but no actual offers yet. I feel as though I’m overqualified for most positions that I’ve interviewed for. I’ve opted out of a few interviews since I wasn’t really interested in the roles.

You are correct though. Some companies offering a ton more money (I just interviewed for a job making double what I currently make), some are stuck in the past and trying to get folks cheap or just slightly higher than before. The company I work for had to reassess the reassessment they did prior to covid (previously went down on the mid point). The new assessment is 40% higher now. However, they aren’t offering retention bonuses or raises to folks in these positions, so time to look.

Wife just took a job making more with a lot less stress than before. She’s been on the job 2 weeks and they are talking about promoting her already and giving her a team.

It’s just luck. My current job is because one of the engineers I work with was friends with my mom and dad. My current offer was from indeed. I left my resume up on “searchable” and the company found me. I, no lie, applied to probably 200 jobs on indeed. No takers. Got tons of “not qualified” emails. I said screw it to indeed and as soon as I did, a company internal recruiter called me after finding my resume.

I had a lot of job offers from USAJOBs, applying directly to the company site, or zip recruiter, but salary was trash. Turns out their $100k job listing was a range and with my qualifications I was at the bottom of the range. I don’t even negotiate anymore. I just say thanks but no thanks. Have a good day.

LinkedIn is trash too. I hate the news feed. It’s just hot chicks complaining about dudes harassing them at work and on linkedin and how they are above that, companies proclaiming their wokeness, or vendors trying to sell you something. I got off LinkedIn after a year. It’s business Facebook.

I’m only 33 I shouldn’t be so jaded already. Lol

And I really wish people did a better job on these boards posting open positions at their companies.
I don't know a single company that isn't trying to hire someone right now.
Maybe I need to lift my fat, white ass off this chair and start looking for a job.
