I don't NEED a diesel, I just really WANT one. This one seems like a good cross to make a light, heavy duty truck.

Yea, the thing that has kept from buying a boat all these years (something like a 18-23 ft ski boat) is the fact that my dad and his business partner had Boston Whalers in the 70's (the kind of **** that runs $50k new nowadays) and he said the maintenance defeated the purpose of owning the damn things.

It's a status thing for me. Gotta have one so I can have a huge truck and make noise. The maintenance has to be somewhat negated by the fact that a diesel will outlive a gas engine 2 to 1.

Except when you do a set of injections at every 150-200k and it's more coin then a brand new gas crate motor or buy a $5,000 transmission, LOL

Naw, injectors aren't THAT bad. They're pricey, but not as expensive as having a new gas engine installed in a truck.
