So over Christmas I ordered a Kak brace on a great deal but now I'm thinking I should just get a rifle first. Don't have the money to build up both currently. What do ya think

Is it stupid to build up an ar pistol before having a rifle?

BCM, Daniel Defense, etc. are well-respected manufacturers of ARs. If you're just getting one, it might as well be a nice one. You'll have plenty of others that will say all ARs are the same and get the cheapest one you can. It's all personal preference.
Good point. How much does the lower parts matter? I ordered a Anderson parts kit but I am going to wait until a deal comes up for a new trigger.

The trigger will make the biggest difference. So long as the lower parts are "in-spec", you should be fine.
I've never truly been able to understand why an AR pistol is more valuable than a rifle when there is less actual gun to be sold and it more than likely is accurate at much shorter distances due to barrel length. Can somebody explain that to me?
Rifle first,then get a pistol and realize they suck and sell it and buy a second rifle
Or spend $200 for an NFA tax stamp to SBR your pistol lower, and then put a real stock on it, and any kind of upper you like.
