Is reloading a dying hobby?

I enjoy reloading I just don't do it much and like basstracker89 says I just don't shoot as much as I should.

To me it has never been that economical but it sure is fun to shoot something you reloaded, especially if you kill a deer or a bird with a round you reloaded.

We were made to compete. I didn't like it. However, I was top gun when I retired

Target shooting can have the same gratification. Knowing you were able to tune the round to your firearm for better groups and/or scores.

As I think I noted in another thread, reloading (or in this case, hand loading) became far more exciting when I discovered my milsurp rifle reloads were more consistent than (expensive) commercial hunting ammo.

Hard to go from paying for your ammo to free ammo for a long time. Then having to pay for it again

Here are the pics from Wal-Mart. They have some primers and a few boxes of bullets. As you can see from the empty shelves they are either going to bring more stuff in or they already sold out? Looks like there are spots for dies, more bullets and maybe even a complete Rock Chucker kit?

I tried to get close ups of the primers. Are those good prices in today's world?

prices are fluctuating a bunch, I just unloaded an order of those Remington 9 1/2 Large Rifles, and I sell them around 10 bucks cheaper. But it depends on the item for the most part, and what distributor I get them from.

That's what I do. Compete against myself, by myself. I don't really want to be around anyone while I'm shooting. But always tried to improve. I'm actually self taught for the most part. Been shooting all my life. The instructors pretty much left me alone, but watched.
When shooting a sequence on the line, The buzzer would go off. I'd draw shoot the sequence and be done waiting on the rest of the line. I'd always be nervous. I just had to remind myself to just go do what I do. I always went out for a practice session by myself. It didn't improve my score, but it did give me confidence

If all reloaders would unite on my behalf and email Starline Brass and ask them to make a run of 405 Winchester it would be great lol. Hornady is making ammo again but from my understanding has no plans of releasing brass. They released bullets.

Once fired or old stock Factory brass is bringing more than new loaded ammo

Just finished up reloading for a match on Saturday. Have 21 sighters and 79 for record read to roll just incase there's a shoot off. I enjoy the rush, camaraderie and challenge of competitive shooting.
