Is the 7mm Rem Mag the 40 S&W of the Hunting Round World?

7mm mag just isn’t enough, so many better calibers are available. I had to wait over 30 minutes after taking a nice buck with one a couple years back. I looked from my stand everywhere for that deer and after 30 minutes, I got down and found it collapsed 50 feet from where it was shot. Yup, just not enough gun and to big of a recoil for us little guys......

Oldies but goodies is what I call 30/06, .270, .300WM and 7mm Rem mags.
Sort of like CCR and Eagles tunes...classics that have stood the test of time.

Guess I’m officially old school now. My new custom rifle is .300WM.
Last few factory guns I bought or traded for were 7mm Rem mag, 30/06, .270....
I’ll take a Sako AIII, Brown Precision or DAKOTA 76 in one of these classic calibers ... and not feel undergunned in any hunting camp.
Maybe it’s because I’m getting long in the tooth myself.
