Several years ago, Trey Knight started the Christmas Cheer program that ended this year. Each year, 50 lucky guys were eligible for one special limited availability part. Last year was the final year of the Christmas Cheer program and the final item in the series was just the excuse I needed to finally get off my butt and build an SBR. This project started off with an 11.5" KAC SR16 CQB dimpled barrel and SR16 E3 bolt kit. Around the same time, rumors started cropping up that KAC may introduce a new variant of their midlength URX rail, based on the URX 3.1. I put out a few feelers to contacts at KAC and confirmed the rail would indeed go into production in early 2013. Since I had a long wait ahead of me for my Stamp to be approved, I figured I could afford to wait. The rails started shipping about a week ago and I received mine from Lawmens & Shooters Supply the same day they went out to the dealers. This upper has been in the works for a while and I'm very pleased with the results!

Big Thank You to Ayan at boltcarrier.com for help with the final assembly. Also wanted to say thanks to Marc at Lawmens, KevinB for putting up with 6 months of "when?" questions about the 3.1 midlength and especially Trey for 4 awesome years of Christmas Cheer goodness!

Thanks guys! Unfortunately, I'm still waiting on my Stamp to come back, so this thing will have to stay sequestered for a couple more months.:frusty:
