I used Jin Kim at the Kim firm. Definitely not the cheapest, but very high level of service. He seems to know all of the people at the local ATF branch by first name, and knew a huge amount of detail on the NFA process. He is active in the NFA community, and I believe he is an NRA instructor.
Ultimately, I chose him because he gives you his cell number to call night or day if you have an issue. He told me he has had to talk down some LEOs over the phone when they hassled some clients, and ultimately diffused the situations.
Worth $500? It was to me, but YMMV.
