Thanks for the advise I hunt with a 44 mag but I may try this one next year
Nice rifle. It’s hard to beat a leaver gun

I've hunted with both. The 357 is a little anemic in my opinion. Most times have to shoot the deer a second time with a 357. Aim careful only once with a 44mag. Even the 45 Colt will take them with one round at distance

Well finally got the scope matched up nicely with the rifle. Henry case hardened receiver, 16.5” octagonal barrel, 44 mag topped with Leupold 1.5x4x20. I think it turned out nicely! What say yee?View attachment 8364597View attachment 8364598

I went with a Leupold 1.5-4x scout scope in Leupold quick release rings on my Henry X in 44 mag… also changed out the plastic furniture for wood and added an XS Sights scout rail, rear peep, and front blade.

I always aim for the neck with my old Ruger 44 mag carbine and it hasn’t failed yet but most places l hunt they are within 50 to 75 yards

My buddy got one last week. I was able to shoot it this past weekend. I love the idea of it being stanag mag fed, with a lever to boot!! Seems like it would be very maneuverable in the woods. He added a Leupold VX-Freedom 3-9x40 to his and it felt right for the gun. He wanted a 300 blackout to predator hunt with in the mountains. With the shorter 16" barrel it should serve him well.

I'm pretty stubborn about a heart lung shot. I did shoot one in the back of the head at 100yds once. She did a complete flip. The 44mag has plenty of power to shoot them anywhere and still get them with one shot. 45 Colt included
