This is where I stopped reading this thread. Well said biker. We need to be getting rid of taxes not creating new ones. It never ****ing ends and some of you are just fine and dandy with it as long as it don't effect you. But soon as big brother taxes your special interest you'll being crying and *****ing.

truth

I agree 100%. Everytime I encounter a bike on the road, they act like they own it. And if you say something to them, They say "I have as much right to be here as you in your truck" ... BUT, I have to pay for a tag and insurance. The bycycles don't. So NO, you don't have the same right as me.

brush up on your laws.....WE DO.....

And what about insurance? I mean, it is possible for a bike to damage a car. I'm seeing this as a move to make bikes and vehicles equal on the road they share.
I doubt that would happen. If someone damages a car or injures someone, they are responsible for the damage just like if they negligently (or maliciously) threw a rock. While it's possible (obviously) to do great bodily harm by hitting someone with a bike, the occurences are extremely rare. Auto insurance is required because too many idiot drivers don't have the financial means to replace someone else's car they total nor compensate for the injuries they inflict or lives they end. The $300 in paint damage a bicycle might do to a car is hardly something worth insuring for.
Then again.... we do have MANDATED health insurance now....

Word. That logic is sound.

99% of them have a car go to work and pay just as much taxes as you.
Probably (or at least I hope so, some of the bikes are SERIOUS coin.) But what's your point?
My point was he apparently thinks I have no problem with bicycle registration because I have some kind of problem with bicyclists. I don't have a problem with bicyclists, at all.

I wonder people who are saying that bikes should share the road, have you ever took a ride on a bike? How many cars yield to pedestrians?
When i'm driving people think they own the road, and you think they share the road?

Take a ride on a bike then tell me who treat who better.

Got to love this.
So government wants to increase taxes, you anti-government.
Government want to tax bikes, you pro.
wtf is that? That's how you lost the freedom. they are taking it away piece by piece and you dont see it.

bikes don't kill people. thats why cars get licensing, to make sure people at least maybe know how to drive safely.

bad cyclists get themselves killed , not others.

Tell that to the lady who got hit head on by a car dodging an idiot on a bike who was turning left, right in front of a car with no hand signal or even looking back.
