Licenses for Bicycles? Seriously?

This idea is so full of sh!+ my eyes have turned brown. I follow the traffic laws more than cars, give way to pedestrians, and don't ride like a jerk. I'm going to ride on the road, sidewalk, trail or wherever the flip I want to ride. My road. My sidewalk. My trail. Hit me if you like, but you better kill my a$$.

I'm all for bucking the system when everyone else decides it is time. I'm not for or against this bill, I'm just pointing out that this isn't an illogical tax considering the parallel between cyclists and cars.

lol you must not be a fan of the concept that two objects cannot occupy the same space at the same time

:) im sure you wont feel the same way when you get shared all over the pavement

just saying, it would behoove you not to have that attitude

If the money went towards putting in bike lanes just for the bikes to use, I'd be all for it. This seems to be yet another way for our government to get more money. It is strange to see the number of people that are all for this as strongly as they seem to be and just as emotional about keeping the government out of every other part of their life.

I sure like the idea of getting the bikes in line and riding like they have some brains, but I'm not so sure this is the way to do it. I guess I'm more against taxing everything that govt can come up with more than I care about bikes taking up my lane. My truck is much larger than a group of bikes, I can get by if I need to and the ditches can get cleaned out by a dummy on a bike. The other side is, the tax will only increase and will do nothing that it's designed to do, that is, if history tells us anything.

tax money taken from specific sources dont go to a fund to solely provide for said sources

it gets pooled together, its just another government tax scam

Serious question.

Can somebody riding a bicycle be ticketed for a traffic violation?

Which this bill plans to use the funds to help enforce the laws currently in place. How? Not a clue. Do I believe they will actually do that with the cash? Probably not. I trust the gov. just about as much as the next guy. I hate the idea of new taxes, but taxes are a reality in our society and some of them are necessary. Is this one? Nope.
