I did this and not only did the gun shoot tighter groups, it felt much lighter. I imagine a magnesium hand guard and lightweight bolt carrier would be the next steps.Have one of these. Seems to work fine. I'm not an operator or anything...

Has the integrated muzzle brake to piss off the other shooters around you.
Will it shoot decently for the first couple rounds? I would love to see the slow mo video of that barrel movement when fired.
Mine seems too. I don’t shoot precision matches or anything but it was a noticible improvement over the factory barrel.
Faxon pencil barrels are great
I have never used one but I have heard a lot of great reviews about their gunner series barrels and about the company as a whole.
The fax on pencil barrel is definitely the biggest bang for your buck when going lightweight. There was guy a while back at Atlanta 3 gun who shot a full JP Enterprises lightweight build that felt as light as a pool noodle. God only knows what that cost though.
