2 rules of racing.............

1. There is ALWAYS someone faster than you.
2. Anyone can win on any given day.

MOST of the time on the street it's who hooks up and who gets the jump.

EDIT. If you really wanna go fast......get a bike...............

My 2 wheel drive pick em up truck would drag that thing down the street backwards with the tires screaming like a little girl. :D

Yeah...I have a 195hp truck that will pull any Subie down the road backwards as well. In fact...DB here and I probably have the same stump-pulling engine in our trucks, unless he has something meaner stashed in the garage. My truck puts out more torque at 2K rpms than an STi puts out at the 5250 rpm crossover point. In a drag race...the Subie will kill my truck. In a towing contest...not a chance.

For torque, there's 2 primary rules...there's no replacement for brute displacement...and diesel > gas. Those rules can be bent one way or the other, but rarely are they broken.

Hadnt made it that far yet before reply. And your just mad you dont have AWD

Food for thought...

STI vs E46 m3

0-60: STI definitely wins
1/4 mile: they're about neck and neck, M3 may edge out
60-120: M3 wins, and it only gets worse as the rate of speed climbs

This is comapring a new STI to an 8-10 year old M3. I haven't even run the numbers for an E90/E92 M3, but your goose is cooked. Next time you see an M on 75, give it a shot but don't plan on winning. I hope you realize that your beloved AWD hurts you at high speeds, the same speeds that are the sweet spot for the M's. Furthermore, the M3 is neck and neck with the STI's in the twisties. You basically have a car that is only good for 60 mph runs and playing in dirt. If you want that, buy an F250 and chip it out. If you want a classy car that people won't question, drop an extra couple grand and grab an M3.

Here is some food for thought......how about not racing on public roads? My family and I would like to avoid being in an accident that might kill all us because you engage in stupid, selfish, and reckless behavior.

Can't take the heat, then stay off the highway.

This is a joke right?

You are willing to risk the lives of countless people trying to go from Point A to Point B safely for an adrenaline dump and ego boost?

I like cars. I like racing. Been a Nascar fan for a long time.

However, there is a time and place for racing and I-75 and heavily traveled public roads is not that place.

Bunch of dead people on this list.

How about this random article I found on a google search? Dumbass racing kills three people including a Mother and her 2 year old daughter, plus the passenger in his car.
