Location designations

I'm in Cumming, and I prefer to say I'm in "north Georgia" than Metro Atlanta.
For the purposes of buying and selling and trading guns and other stuff, I'm not going to drive to Atlanta, and I don't really expect people who live in or near 285 to come up this far to see me.

I'd rather drive another 30-40 miles north to Helen or Dahlonega than to come down to ATL just for a meet-up.

(Unless it's for a paying client engaging my legal services, of course.)

If somebody from Lawrenceville works in ATL and spends a lot of time going in that direction, then to him, Lawrenceville should be considered as Metro Atlanta. But to others that do all their shopping and work and recreation in the north or east directions, rarely venturing south or west, then Lawrenceville may be "Northeast Georgia" to them.

I think it should a requirement to have your county in your listing .

I'd rather see a major crossroads as a reference point.

Some counties are really long, or wide.
Consider Fulton. From Milton or John's Creek in the north, down to Union City and Fairburn to the south, it's something like 60 miles of driving !

From Palmetto to Cartersville is just over 60 miles .

From Palmetto to The Kia plant in West point is just under 60 miles.

Driving through Atlanta sux and I hate it !

I'd say you have a good point about intersections ,but knowing what county your in gives a much better reference than saying northwest Georgia.

Oh yea I'm good there, I do that and post the town name as well.
I'm not even sure why we have the other part...?????
It seems the district is just there for the buttons on the classified page. But since they're of little use it doesn't seem worth it to use them, or maybe to have them.
I've started using the distance search instead. But that's not great either; I'd be willing to drive farther in any direction except toward Atlanta.
Maybe:

IMO all this North - South - North Central - Metro is stupid.
It's pretty simple to state which TOWN you live AROUND (close to)...we can take it from there!
