Long range.

Hello folks, I'm wanting to get into long range shooting. I can reach out to about 300yrds in my back yard but was wondering if anyone knew of any shooting ranges that go further. I'm not ready for it yet but eventually would like to find somewhere I can reach out to 1000. The perfect place would be close to Morgan county but I'm willing to drive a ways.

Good luck with that. There's the new place near Sandersville, one down near Savannah, plus one in Tennessee that cmshoot uses.

Otherwise, there's 700 at Gunsite Hills near you, and 600 in Talladega AL. 600 once a month at Riverbend.

There may be others, but they aren't open to the public.

Fort Gordon (Augusta) is open to the public and you can reach out to 600 or 800 as I recall. You have to register your firearm with the installation. As of a month or so ago, silencers are also now legal on the range.

Not exactly close to you but it's an option.
