I am in the market to get a 308. I want to use it for some hunting and long range target shooting. Any advice on the best bang for my buck? I'm looking at something like a howa or ruger mark ii. The problem is finding them. If you know of somewhere local to get one please let me know. I'm on a budget of about $600 right now.

Call CCF and get a savage.
No, not off hand. they show up on here ever now and then. I got mine off the ODT. I can stack bullets at 100yds and 5 inch grougs at 600yds. It could probably do better at long range but that as good as I can do.

If I were in the market I would look at the Ruger American 100% American made, can't go wrong. Can be found a walmart of all places.
