Lubricant. Fad , fancy or basic ?

I usually use Ballistol on my Glock, per hickok45's recommendation. However I don't use it on my high end 1911 ... that one gets the Valvoline full synthetic 5W-30! I just got a bottle of FP-10 and will be trying that out too. They say Hoppes, Rem oil and the like will hurt the finish on my particular 1911, so that's why I don't use them.

For sliding parts I use this.

Hoppes 9 for bore cleaning.

I'll use CLP on my ARs from time to time.

I tried Frog Lube but too much of a hassle.

I've got a really thin cleaner/lubricant for my revolvers but can't recall the name right now. Nevermind - it's Prolix. Supposed to be safe for nickel guns. http://www.prolixlubricant.com/
