Marines not trusted with functional rifles?

Ceremonial riles are inoperable as part of SOP....has nothing to do with any POTUS.

Not exactly.

When I was 15, in JROTC, we were given live M1 Garands and blanks to fire in funerals and other ceremonies. They were 100% operable rifles, not plugged or capped off with anything. We weren't old enough to drive cars, but we were "trusted" to not go crazy and shoot up things with our live battle rifles. (And none of us ever did.)

Certainly, we didn't go to anything like any inaugurations, but we were just kids.

It really does seem like a different world, though. People just didn't go crazy and shoot up schools back then. It was not something that had really ever happened. It wasn't something that people imagined happening.

There were guns all over the place. If you are going to try and counter a photo from my personal collection. Use a photo from your own that you or someone you personally know took.

Okay, I'll download some publicly released photos and share them from my "personal collection" then.... semantically you didn't say you took the photo, but you sure as heck implied that you were saying it was yours. You didn't "lie", but you sure as heck represented it as a photo which couldn't be in the "personal collection" of any person with internet access. Heck, I've got a copy of the U.S. Constitution, pictures of celebrities, and a whole bunch of other stuff I didn't make/write/photograph in my "personal collection".

You are only pissed off I insulted your fearless leader Obama and called him a *****.. Downloading a picture off the internet now or having someone you know load the picture from their saved images from their computer from their camera is a little bit different.

Let me get to the point. I basically called you a no one that doesn't actually have any photos because you have never actually been there to have them. Which is why I suggested you post your own or a friends in defense of your favorite president. Clear enough?

Because only upstanding, morally strong, mentally stable, rational people join the military? We never have unstable individuals in the military?

"Normal" people don't want to drop the president. That's the point, the Marines shouldn't be considered a threat to the president or any other American.

hahaha

I didn't take any pictures with the president. I like how "your" pic is the only one you'll trust. I just didn't know you once worked for the U.S. Navy taking official pictures, since that is an official U.S. military photograph from 2003...

Metadata from the official picture says your name is "Staff Sgt Reynaldo...." if this is your "personally taken" photo...

I guess you were in the navy as well if you think that is funny. I like how he used quotation marks and wasn't actually quoting me. I explained pretty well exactly what and where that photo came from in this thread. Did you vote for Obama too?

No sir. I got a laugh at the blatant way he was calling you out.
Thank you both for your service as well as the entertainment in this thread.

Alright, Sorry man. I am still a little pissed off at the way he accused me of saying I took the picture and the way he changed my words around. Then after he changes what I said to suit his purposes decides to prove that I didn't take the picture when I never said I did.

Another thing that annoys me Jnuke is that when I counter/respond to something you post. You go back and change your original post to something else.

So, I'm a "no one" because I haven't been told by other people to be stationed somewhere that a politician was doing a photo-op? If that is what you think makes you "someone" (yes, I'm still using quotations), then you have some serious issues imo. That you can't recognize that every recent president does the same little photo-ops with troops as their personal props is somewhat disturbing. I have lots of photos, neither myself or anyone else in them is a prop for the media relations of a politician in them though. If you had any reading comprehension of the many posts I've made on the subject though, you wouldn't consider the current president to be my favorite much less someone I'd call a "fearless leader." Though apparently your hatred for this administration blinds you to such simple facts.

Your blatant attempt to imply that some stock PR photo for the previous president and the military is anything else was either out of ignorance or out of deceit. If it's the former, then you simply were given the same picture the press was and didn't recognize it. However, you decided to use that picture (whether you knew it was a PR photo or not) in a post that wanted me to use a "photo I took or someone I knew took" when you did not take it or know who took it. At that point you must have realized that you were asking me to do produce something in response to your picture which did not meet those requirements. Your justification is that the military sent you somewhere that I wasn't sent and that makes me a "no one"? The military probably didn't have you on a ballistic missile submarine with live torpedoes in the tubes after transitioning to DEFCON 3 for the first time since the Cuban missile crisis, but I'm not sitting over here calling you names because your service to the country didn't put you in that situation. You implication that my service means less or makes me less than you is as insulting as it is disgusting. If that is how you actually feel about the rest of the military then your lack of respect for the majority of the military is noted.
