Marlin 45-70 GSBL help needed - What’s it worth?!

Why would o basic one be worth more? The only difference is stock and forend same sight and everything else it’s not worth more than a marlin guide gun Walmart has them every now and again for around 1000 tax and all

I bought the leather buttstock cartridge from a friend…I think he had it custom made from a guy he works with. I’ll follow up.

As for the scope…I appreciate everyone’s opinion, but I ran it that way as I bought it to hunt pigs and it has the pig plex crosshairs configuration. If a pig runs at me I want to see through the scope rings.

You ran the scope mounted that way on THIS gun, or while it was mounted on another gun?

Hah! Thanks for telling a dude that manages a gun store that.

When it’s an out of production firearm, they absolutely do go up in price.

When it’s a hard to find firearm, they will oftentimes sell for much more than MSRP.

Additionally, in the past 7 years (2016-2023) the price for a new fireman of the same make and model has risen slightly every single year. Slightly x 7 = a noticeable increase.

To top it off, lever guns have seen a huge resurgence in popularity. Currently we sell more lever actions, and are asked for more lever actions, than 3 years ago. Demand drives up prices.

Best way to explain it, is it’s a marlin sbl. With different sights and furniture. And no threaded barrel. so it would be cheaper than a sbl. And doesn’t come with pic rail. It was made to have sights for faster target acquisition. Just like the nra sig pistols they are just fde vs black… no price value difference expect this gun was downgraded instead of just getting different color furniture
