Maximum number of ads at any given time?

I've actually thought about doing this exact thing during the last week or so. I think you can list as many items as you want, but contain it all in 10 listings or less if that makes sense. FOr example, if you have 20 pairs of shoes to sell, just put them all in two or three listings.

Just to stir.... How many items should be max for 1 listing?

If you are going to make a change, how about, NO PICTURES, NO LISTING? Any and all ads that are listed without pictures are instantly deleted.

The reason I can see for making such a change is to prevent one person from taking over page one with a mass of ads, bumping everyone else to page two - a common problem on Craigslist. I haven't yet seen this problem on our site however.

It seems that in the ads that have pictures, especially trade only ads, the reading comprehension level drops to about 3rd or 4th grade level. I've always included pretty detailed pictures in my ads but after talking to another member that no longer post pics have been considering doing the same to force people to read the text and see what I'm interested in trading for. The member that's done that says it has cut down significantly on the amount of bs offers of a S&W sigma for his M1A for example.

That's kind of a double edged sword. You can answer dumb PM's (Which I consider part of the deal) or you can lose sales. I for one, and I know I am not alone, when I see an ad with no pictures, I move on.

Yep that's a valid point. Some of the pm's I get are so freaking dumb it's truly scary that these people have guns and walk among us, the best part is many times they get pissed when you send a simple no thanks to their retarded offer.

You need to convince more people to move on from the no pic threads though, maybe then I can get a few more good deals.

There are at least a couple of folks that post and repost numerous items that takes up almost a full page especially in the Everything Else classified section. They appear to be a pawn shop or other business, not an individual, and take advantage of the ODT to post their junk. They never post anything outside of the classified section. They are not site supporters or make any contribution to the betterment of the site. So yes it does happen and it does bump down everyone's listings. You can put them on your ignore list but unfortunately it does not remove the threads from the list or any search you perform.

How hard is it to post pictures? I normally move on if there are not pictures. I especially hate the listing that say they will send photos upon request. If you have pictures, post them!!

Consolidation is the key . I would rather see a harder effort to eliminate users here with multiple accounts and users that were here after being banned on other boards .

Does this sound ok with everyone?

Max listings per person per day is five per category. You can put as many items in a listing as you want, but can't make more than five listings per category per day.

Why - I come here to buy stuff. The more available, the better.
