A while back I got a MEC 600 Jr Mk V 12GA press. It was nasty so I clean it up and have started trying to use it. Everything works well except the final crimp
If I put an uncrimped shell in there and pull the handle it never gets to the lock point before it domes the top and crushed the side of the shell. I tried it with a factory round, figuring it was like a seating die on pistol. No matter where the adjustment is I cannot lock down on the factory shell. It pretty much stops and when I pull the shell out the top corners are domed over.
I inserted a shell into the crimper and it stops at the top of the brass on a high brass shell. In the videos I have watched of this thing it looks like the crimper should come down the shell almost to the base.
Any ideas what could be wrong? I have adjusted the screw up and down and the cam arm with no results.
